Staff Challenge with Echino and Melody Miller

It didn't take much persuading to get the girls here in the shop to enter this challenge once Melody Miller and Echino were mentioned.

This first one was made by Mary, and just look how inviting it is!

Then Rachel knocked our socks off with this!

Sam then gave us these gorgeous pot holders that split at the back to slip your hands into. This would be cooking with style!

Clair knocked out a couple of small pouches. She lets the fabric do the work for her.

And finally, a simply sweet book cover by Mary once again.

So, what could you make with this lovely fabric? Have we inspired you enough yet?
You know, now is the time to start knocking out all those gifts that we usually leave till the last minute at Christmas. I don't think a gift made with these fabrics would be unappreciated!

Post a comment about the projects above or your idea for a gift, because I have some fat 1/8ths of Melody Miller and Echino to give away to the comment I like the most. Good luck everyone!

Happy stitching

Dinosaur

Hi All,

I think in my first blog I told you I was a dinosaur when it came to computers. The last blog is hard to see, I am sorry. Here is the text again

Special Event

Saturday March 3rd

The very talented designer Leanne Beasley from Leanne's House will be in store from 10 am. Leanne is the author of "Vignette" magazine and issue 6 will be available for purchase, and signing on the day. Many of the samples which have featured in the previous issues will be available for viewing as well as some of her other projects. Also available for purchase, are fabric packs for the Vignette mystery quilt. Come in to say "Hi", see stitching demonstrations ask questions and see some of Leanne's incredible work.

Sorry about the quality of the photos. I will try to learn some more to improve the blog, but I really am better at buying fabric than blogging.

We are excited

Sam arrived at work this morning and gave a bit of a groan! I had lined up a little cutting to do in preparation for Sydney Craft and Sewing show in a few weeks time.

Rachael arrived a little later and the two girls celebrated when they completed the task. Both felt they had done enough cutting for the day.

Look what has arrived! "Flea Market Fancy" by Denyse Schmidt

Sam is now almost begging to be allowed to cut so she can fondle and drool over them. I don't think Sam is going to take home any pay this week.

The cutting has started so fat quarters will be available in half an hour.

Happy stitching.

New delivery

Hi Everyone,

Here is a quick post with some new fabrics
Disney prints

This is "lark" which has been designed by Amy Butler, and will feature in Homespun magazine, in bag of the month projects.

Rebecca called into the shop yesterday just on closing time, and we moved some fabric which left an empty bay! Her girls soon filled it deciding it made a good cubby!

Confession time

It is time to confess! Russell and I have been away for three weeks holiday, so my
thanks to Rebecca for continuing the blog in my absence. We sailed from Sydney on a twelve night cruise disembarking in Auckland and then spent eight nights on the north island of New Zealand. It was a very much needed break to rest and recharge. While on the cruise there was a stitch and chat session on each sea day and it was great meeting the ladies from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA.

Cruising Milford Sound was stunning

Having time to sit in a great location and do nothing was a luxury.

As wonderful as the holiday was it was great to be back home and within five hours of the plane landing I was back in the shop, I couldn't help my self.

Lots of new arrivals are in

A little bit of France oui oui

Michael Miller's indigoes red including "The British are Coming"

Lots of other new fabrics which I will show you soon.

It's nice to be home.
